However, it is possible that the event will be rescheduled due to extreme weather conditions (2 feet of snow, etc.)
Wave start times will be listed a few days before the race. The first wave will start at 7:40am
Packet pick-up starts/transition area opens: 6:30am
Awards to top 3 overall male/female and age group winners. Age groups are 5 year age groups.
Swim at Cheyenne Mt High School pool. 3 swimmers per lane. In water start (not a dive start).
The mountain bike course will utilize somewhat technical trails as well as fields and a short paved section(3 loops). The singletrack portion of the bike (West side of bike map below) is NOT that difficult, but it is on singletrack and you will need a mountain bike not a road or cyclocross bike. Also, since there is a maze of trails in that area, if you pre-ride the course it is VERY likely that you will not ride on the exact course (and will ride on more difficult trails than the actual course!). On race day the course will be well marked. If you would like a tour of the bike course before the day of the event, let me know.
The run will primarily be a track run, with a parking lot section between the transition area and the track. Once you get to the track you will run one lap in each of the 8 lanes, moving inward after completing that lap. Anyone changing lanes other than at the designated spot (except to pass an athlete) will be disqualified.
Bike Map (approximate):
The bike course will be marked with pink/orange flagging and orange flags
